Calling right minded organisations looking for merch and uniform…. Here’s a great opportunity for you and the planet!Instead of buying a whole load of new polo shirts and other stuff, why not work with me at Where Does It Come From? to upcycle unwanted items so they fit your requirements?A business has just offered us a quantity of unworn adult polo shirts in different sizes and colours - shall we repurpose them and make them yours? They are currently branded with a small embroidered logo so would need rebranding. What a great story for your employees and PR!Please get in touch to discuss - our client would especially love to work with a charity on this project but all ideas considered. The image below is from a project where we repurposed t shirts for electric vehicle business Wyre. T shirts that had been printed with a spelling error (#freebrittany instead of #freebritney!) were overprinted with the required graphic. Qudos to Rebecca Hansen of Wyre for working with us to create sustainable merch and to Mark and Colette from RBLI (Royal British Legion Industries) who handled the overprinting. As we approach the weekend....Does your organisation require branded polo shirts?Would you prefer to save some from landfill, over creating completely new t shirts from scratch (think of the environmental impacts!)?Wouldn't your staff and customers LOVE the idea that you have re-used existing unused polo shirts, showcasing your ethical and sustainable values?I am still looking for a partner for this project - a business who is willing to step out of the box and work to upcycle t shirts than simply go to a merch supplier and ordering a bunch without consideration for impacts. Please do get in touch if this could be your organisation! Have a great weekend.#circularity #circulareconomy #wastenotwantnot #upcycle #landfill #bethechange #csr #corporatesocialresponsibility #responsiblebusiness

Try it Tuesday with Theresa.......Is it time to get your closet organized? But where to start? First start by removing and evaluating every item. Next, create a pile for toss, keep and donate. If you have not worn it in a year, it's time to let it go. Once you have decided on what you are keeping, sort them into categories. For an example, shoes, pants, shirts, dresses, workout apparel and so on. Now if you are going to put in new storage and rods this is the time to measure your space and make necessary changes to your closet. When you have made your changes it's time to put everything back. You can arrange your clothing and accessories that best fits your space. You can also use baskets, bins, dressers or other storage solutions in your closet. Good luck getting organized in 2024. Today's tip comes from; www.marthastewart.com #getorganized #tryit #closetorganization #newyou

Interesting deal: on one hand, VF "assumes" it overpaid for the brand in 2020. On the other, the buyer (EssilorLuxottica) is showing signs of expanding its highly successful focus on accessories by getting into apparel. #strategy#moment#strategicthinking#strategicplanning#marketintelligence#strateg#strategy#strategicpartnerships#strategicthinking#businessconsulting#strategydevelopment#strategyandtransformation#businessconsulting#strategicplanning#consumers#businessmodel#bethechange#fundraising #cashisking

Met Gala: Fashion, Philanthropy, and the Call for Global AwarenessThe Met Gala, a dazzling night of extravagant fashion and celebrity sightings, is more than just a red carpet spectacle. Held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, it's a major fundraising event that fuels the Institute's mission to preserve fashion history and ignite conversations around the art form. Since the Met Gala is raising money for a costume institute, the outfits push the limits of fashion and creativity — blessing the internet with material to admire and meme around.Celebrity Philanthropy on the Runway:The Met Gala's star power translates to serious fundraising muscle. A coveted invitation, celebrities pay a hefty sum to attend, with ticket prices reaching upwards of $35,000. Additional millions are raised through table purchases, sponsorships, and a silent auction. These funds directly support the Costume Institute's exhibitions, educational programs, and preservation efforts.A Model Reexamined: Expanding the Circle of Giving? While the Met Gala's celebrity-driven model has proven highly successful, some argue for a broader approach to fundraising. The Institute's global impact extends far beyond New York City. Could including international patrons or hosting satellite fundraising events help address crucial areas like textile conservation in India, a center of rich textile traditions?A Look Back: From Gilded Age to "The Garden of Time"The Met Gala's origins date back to 1948, initially conceived as a small dinner party. Over the decades, it has evolved into a cultural phenomenon, with elaborate themes dictating the dress code. The 2024 theme, "The Garden of Time: A Reawakening of Fashion," celebrates the cyclical nature of fashion and the upcoming exhibition "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."The Met Gala's influence extends far beyond the world of fashion. It's a platform for social commentary, a celebration of artistic expression, and a significant source of funding for fashion preservation. As the prestige of the event grows, the conversation around its philanthropic impact needs to be voiced out more.

I understand your forecast wasn't accurate. At a SKU level, that's near impossible and you're going end up with surplus.I understand why you won't discount to clear the market on a "luxury" good.I understand it's wasteful to destroy the surplus. What I don't understand is if you sell luxury goods, why you'd choose to produce surplus versus investing in the scarcity story your brand is build on by producing meaningfully less than expected demand. Why you wouldn't donate the goods to charity auctions to get a tax write-off.Why you wouldn't warehouse the goods over longer periods of time and rerelease them in limited quantities later.#luxuryfashion #economics #scarcity #brandbuildinghttps://lnkd.in/g4MghEXK

When it comes to excellent garment production, three things matter;1. Having a tight production structure2. Having the right machines3. Having staff that understands and follow due process and that are committed to excellence. You as the business owner can help achieve the structure and process, of course you would buy the machines. Funds for these can be raised through various means and again you have to instill the culture of excellence in your staff. An employee that sew well can come to a factory that anything goes and become sloppy. The onus lies on you to insist on a particular finishing by creating a structure for good quality control and no matter what is at stake, not to accept mediocrity in production. This is why our uniforms come out as excellently as they do and we keep improving the production process. As a garment producer/ fashion designer, look at your current production process, what works and what causes time and material waste? Tweak it and create processes that work for you. I love you, #nenyeazubike #dandkgarments #uniformscompany
